“How to Taste as an American” is artist Carolina Paz’s effort to translate her distinct Brazilian taste and sensibility to her new environment (she has been living in the U.S. for less than a year). The video installation, “Homemade,” immerses the viewer into Paz’s sights and sounds, recreating traditional Brazilian and American recipes with products + measurements made in the USA.
During the exhibition, we will be asking interested visitors to leave a written “tip” for the artist answering the question, “How do I taste as an American?” in exchange for a free poster print from the “Homemade” video.
